Obama seal of approval for Pektron clean-fuel technology

6th August, 2009

When US President Barack Obama addressed the American people yesterday (Wednesday, August 5th 2009) he spoke of the economy, the distribution of $2.4 billion in taxpayer grants for electric vehicle development, and the vital role that clean-fuel technology plays in the future of our planet.

The backdrop for President Obama’s speech was the new Navistar International truck plant, the recipient of a $39.2 million grant to develop a full range of advanced electric delivery trucks.

The trucks on display either side of President Obama - on which these new vehicles will be based - are powered by leading-edge technologies; developed, tested, and manufactured for Modec - at Pektron's UK headquarters in Derby.

In recent years, Pektron have invested heavily in the development of clean-fuel technology, facing up to the challenge of providing the same level of performance, economy and comfort as a traditionally fuelled vehicle. This latest development is a glowing endorsement of our expertise and our efforts in this area, and a positive step towards the safeguarding of our precious environment.
